BIRTH REPORT OF AMERICAN CITIZEN ABROAD: The consulate Report of Birth Abroad documents the birth of a USA citizen in a foreign state. It is accepted by all US Government agencies as proof of a child's American citizenship. The report technically is not a birth certificate (it is a certification of the facts of birth as recorded in a foreign birth document.) The child's Thai birth certificate should be retained & MUST BE shown to Thai immigration when the child is taken out of Thailand.
